In a commendable operation, Nigerian security operatives successfully rescued seven abducted students from the Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State. The rescue took place on Sunday evening, and the students, comprising four males and three females, were safely handed over to the university management.

The abduction occurred when terrorists invaded a private hostel named Confidence Lodge in Gandu community last Wednesday. Following the incident and previous attacks on the students' community, aggrieved students staged a protest, blocking major roads leading to the university last Thursday.

In a video obtained ,students displayed placards and chanted slogans expressing their refusal to accept the prevailing situation. The protesting students alleged that police personnel attacked them during the demonstration.

Although the specific number of abducted students is yet to be officially disclosed, the successful rescue provides a glimmer of hope. SaharaReporters contacted the spokesperson for the state police command, Ramhan Nansel, who expressed unawareness of the kidnapping and could not provide information about the release. The police had previously dispersed a student protest calling for the rescue of their abducted colleagues.
