Students from the Economics Department at Skyline University Nigeria (SUN) paid a courtesy visit to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as part of the activities following the recently concluded Economics Week 2024 at their university.

Students from the Economics Department at Skyline University Nigeria (SUN) paid a courtesy visit to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as part of the activities following the recently concluded Economics Week 2024 at their university.

The students were warmly received by Mr. Abdulazeez Murtala, the ICSO, who represented the state coordinator. In his opening remarks and presentation, Mr. Murtala expressed his pleasure at welcoming the SUN students. He commended the university for providing its students with practical industry experiences that will benefit them in their future careers.

During his presentation, Mr. Murtala provided an extensive overview of the CBN's vision and mission, as well as detailed explanations of the roles and functions of its various departments. He emphasized the collaborative efforts of all departments in driving the mission and vision of the CBN. Mr. Murtala also encouraged the students to continually advance their knowledge in economics and technology to remain relevant in their field.

Dr. Aminu, a faculty member from SUN’s Department of Economics who accompanied the students, remarked that the visit would significantly enhance the students' understanding of the CBN’s operations. He expressed gratitude to the CBN for the informative session.

The visit was also attended by Mr. Umar Farouk, the corporate affairs executive at SUN, who supported the students throughout the visit.

This visit marks a significant step in bridging academic learning with real-world financial industry practices, providing SUN students with valuable insights into the workings of Nigeria’s central banking system.
