Skyline University Nigeria hosts Central Bank of Nigeria staff for leadership training

Skyline University Nigeria (SUN) hosted the staff of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Kano branch, for leadership training. The session was held on the 27th of July, 2024, at the campus of the university.

Joining the session virtually, the Vice-Chancellor of SUN, Prof. Ajith Kumar V. V., commended the staff for attending the session. He said leadership is one of the critical aspects of organisational growth and its knowledge is very much needed in the 21st century. He added that building individuals’ capacity in leadership skills, which includes strategy and intelligence, helps to support the overall management of an organisation towards the realisation of its set goals and objectives.

Leading the session, Dr. Sudha Mavuri, who doubles as the Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies (SPGS) and that of the School of Arts, Management and Social Sciences (SAMSS), explained that the program will certainly equip the participants with leadership, team building and strategic leadership expertise. She stated that effective communication and productive conflict are elements that drive organisational success.

“A crucial component of strategic leadership is the mental capacity to spot opportunities that are invisible to rivals and manage other relevant parties’ perceptions to get them on board,” she added.

The participants were excitingly engaged in practical group activities that added to their knowledge on the relevance of trust, team building and strategic intelligence leadership in an organisation.

 

Giving the concluding remarks, Mr. Abubakar Sadiq Isma’il, the Director of Marketing and Communications (DOMC), appreciated the Central Bank of Nigeria, Kano branch management, for sparing their time to attend the event. Like Dr. Mavuri, he said the session will certainly be impactful in their organisational success.
