Sokoto State University Debunks Rumors of Ongoing ASUU Strike

The Office of the Vice-Chancellor of Sokoto State University has issued a statement dismissing rumors of an ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Sokoto State University branch.

 

The statement, released on March 9, 2025, clarified that academic activities resumed on Thursday, March 6, 2025, following the suspension of the industrial action by ASUU.

The university management urged staff, students, and the general public to disregard the misinformation, which it described as a "mere misrepresentation from mischief makers trying to dent the image of the University and the Government."

 

Meanwhile, the university announced that the Senate will sit on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, to consider an adjustment to the academic calendar, with a view to determining a suitable date for the commencement of the First Semester examination.
