Sokoto State University Denies Claims of Dilapidated Lecture Halls

Sokoto State University has refuted recent social media claims alleging that its lecture halls are dilapidated and unusable. In a press release issued on August 19, 2024, the university's management addressed misleading videos and images that falsely depicted damaged lecture halls and suggested that students would have no proper facilities for upcoming examinations.

The university clarified that the affected lecture halls have not been in use since a windstorm caused damage. It also stated that repairs have been completed on some buildings, which are now operational. To accommodate the need for additional space, the university has allocated two newly constructed faculties—Agriculture and Engineering—to the impacted departments.
