UNICAL TO PUNCH NEWSPAPER, AGGRIEVED STUDENTS: RESPECT THE COURT
The attention of the University of Calabar has been drawn to a damaging and disparaging publication titled “ C’ River Undergraduates Lament Extortion Over Unaccredited Courses” in Punch Newspaper of 16th March, 2023 credited to one Uthman Salami.
As an institution, we would have comprehensively responded to several contentious issues raised in the publication but have decided to maintain silence till the matter which is still before the court is resolved.
We wish to remind the aggrieved students as contained in that publication that they took the institution to court and should therefore allow the course of justice to flow.
In the same vein, we urge Punch Newspaper to respect the state of affairs as it relates to the case at hand.
The University of Calabar remains committed to the welfare and progress of all her students.
