SUG Installs Solar Power at Students' Reading Areas, Executes Developmental Projects BUK

President of the Students Union Government (SUG) Bayero University, Kano has installed solar power systems at the students' reading areas across the University campuses.

This formed part of the developmental projects executed.The reading areas affected are Kitchen Conversion and FAIS Theatre A21 at New Campus and SCE reading room at Old Campus. This was done to improve the welfare of students as they are now writing their first examination.

According to the SUG President, Comrade Sadauki, thirty days in office have been a blessing as the union had executed many other developmental projects to further boost the welfare of students in the University.

He explained that the SUG has equally paid for subscription of all DSTVin the students' common rooms across the campuses such as Rabi’u Musa Kwankaso Common Room at Old Campus, BlockJ and Stella Adedavoh (AKTH) and Yar'adua, Ramat, Gambo Sawaba (New Campus). He added that torch lights were procured and distributed to the security personnel to complement the University's effort in improving the Security situation across hostels in addition to renovating water reservoir that were previously not working.

The SUG has also repaired electricity connections on the various hostels, repaired the University bus for conveying students to and from the campuses and cleared bushes at Old Campus. He said water tanker was also repaired.

The SUG President commended the Dean, Students Affairs, Professor Shamsuddeen Umar for giving them all the necessary support to execute these projects and thanked all other elected executives for working together to improve the welfare of  students.
