BUK Organizes Orientation for New Staff

Speaking at the occasion, the Acting Registrar, Hajiya Amina Umar Abdullahi, said that the orientation Programme was aimed at equiping and acquainting the new staff with the general rules and regulations governing the services of the University as well as prepare them adequately for the task ahead. She also charged them to be more honest and committed to their assignments.While welcoming the new employees into the University, Hajiya Amina Abdullahi urged them to pay close attention to their senior colleagues as they guide them through in the exercise.
On her part, the Director, Directorate of Establishment Matters (DEM), Hajiya Binta Yahya K/Na'isa, admonished the new staff to be good ambassadors of themselves their families and the University by way of exhibiting good character for other people to emulate.Hajiya K/Naisa however affirmed that the University would not condone laxity and non-adherence to extant guidelines, hence the need to study rules closely, as ignorance of a law was never an excuse.
Attendees at the programme were fully briefed on what was expected of them in the course of discharging their assigned duties and responsibilities. The participants were equally enlightened on the workings of various units and organs of the University, such as the VC's Office, the Registry, Health Centres, the Security Unit, the Bursary, Student Affairs, Public Affairs, General Administration and the Directorate of Examinations, Admissions and Records.On her part, Dr. Zainab Sani K/Mata, who spoke on behalf of the staff extended their appreciation to the University for the eye-opening training which, she described as educating and captivating and prayed that their sojourn in their new environment would be a wonderful one.

Those who educated the new employees included Prof. Shamsuddeen Umar, Dr. Munir Sulaiman, Haruna Aliyu, Kabiru Wali, Adamu Saleh, Nura Garba, Sani Madabo, Aliyu Abubakar, Abbas Abba Rufa'I, Mahfuz Ibrahim Zubairu, Kailu Umar and Ogadinma Caroline O.
