Taraba State Government Officially Hands over Green House Farm to Taraba State University

The management of Green House Farm, in collaboration with Mr. Polycarp Yamusa, the Managing Director of Taraba Investment and Properties, officially handed over the renowned "Cucumber Farm" to Taraba State University, this is in adherence to the directive of His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas.

The handover ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including the Hon. Commissioner of Agriculture & Food Security, Hon. Prof. Nicholas Oliver Namessan, who, though represented by Mr. Philemon Bulus, lauded the Taraba State Government's decision as a commendable step in the right direction.

During the handover event, Mr. Philemon Bulus conveyed the Commissioner's appreciation, describing the move as a strategic decision that aligns with the state's agricultural goals. He emphasized the positive impact this transfer would have on the local economy, tantamount of bringing rapid progress and development in the University. The gesture was acknowledged as a deliberate moves to support the state government's commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture and and provides practical facilities for the University Students especially those at the faculty of Agriculture.

Addressing the gathering, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Sunday Paul Bako, expressed gratitude for the investment, highlighting its capital-intensive nature and its role in providing means of research and practicals which would also adds to the internal revenue generation of the University. 

Prof. Bako acknowledged the foresight of the Executive Governor of the State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, in facilitating such a valuable partnership. He assured that the university would make judicious use of the facilities to further inject them inline with the vision for progress and contributing to the overall development of the institution.
