Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has launched an ambitious six-month project to build and furnish primary and secondary schools across the state’s 16 local government areas.

Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has set a bold target to construct and furnish primary and secondary schools across all 16 local government areas (LGAs) within the next six months. The ambitious project aims to transform the educational infrastructure in the state, leveraging innovative building technology for durable and cost-effective structures.

The construction initiative, which was launched at Jauro-Yinu Primary School, will be driven by the use of Hydraform bricks, produced with cutting-edge machinery provided by a South African firm. In line with this, Governor Kefas also initiated the training of 100 youths in advanced building technology, ensuring skill transfer and job creation within the state.

Key Features of the School Construction Project:

  1. Free Education: Taraba will provide free primary and secondary education, supported by modern, well-equipped school buildings.

  2. Job Creation: Through the introduction of Hydraform brick technology, the project will create employment opportunities for youths trained in the construction process, contributing to poverty reduction.

  3. Innovative Technology: The Hydraform machines, known for producing cost-effective and durable blocks, will revolutionize the state’s building process. A total of 45 machines will be deployed across all 16 LGAs.

  4. Statewide Impact: The project will enhance the learning environment for thousands of children, ensuring access to quality education and improved infrastructure.

Dr. Kefas emphasized the importance of the project, stating, "These state-of-the-art machines will revolutionize our building processes. We will construct modern, well-equipped schools across the 16 LGAs within six months, providing a conducive learning environment for our children."

Abdulhakeem Huthman, the country representative of Hydraform, praised Taraba State’s forward-thinking approach, positioning it as a leader in cost-effective building materials. Commissioner for Education, Dr. Augustina Godwin, lauded the governor’s initiative, underscoring the critical need for skilled manpower in the state’s development.

The school construction project is expected to significantly boost educational outcomes, laying a solid foundation for the future of Taraba’s children.
