Taraba State University (TSU) has witnessed significant transformation under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Sunday Paul Bako. Throughout 2024, Prof. Bako has spearheaded numerous initiatives that have enhanced the university's infrastructure, academic programs, and technological capabilities.

 

The university has commissioned several modern facilities, including a Micro Teaching Lab, multipurpose boardrooms, and state-of-the-art classrooms. A 900-bed female hostel has been completed, addressing accommodation challenges and promoting gender inclusivity. Key lecture halls have also been renovated, improving learning spaces for students.

TSU has achieved significant academic milestones, including the accreditation of 53 programs, such as Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, Law, and Environmental Health. The university has also secured accreditation from the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) for its engineering programs.

Prof. Bako has introduced free internet services for the university community, promoting digital inclusion and access to information. The university has also implemented CCTV monitoring for examinations, ensuring transparency and curbing malpractice. Staff communication systems and student records have been fully digitized, enhancing operational efficiency and data management.

 

Prof. Bako's dedication to transformative leadership and service delivery has been recognized with the National Golden Service Award. Under his leadership, TSU has fostered a culture of integrity, transparency, and community engagement, positioning the university as a model for progress in Nigerian higher education.
