The Vice-Chancellor of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED), Professor Samuel Oladipo, has urged newly admitted students of the Centre for External Programmes and Preliminary Studies (CEPPS) to embrace discipline, hard work and entrepreneurial skills as essential ingredients for academic success and self-reliance.

Professor Oladipo gave the charge during the 2025/2026 matriculation ceremony for newly admitted part-time students held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the TETFund 2012 Hall, Ijagun Campus.
The Vice-Chancellor congratulated the 261 matriculating students, describing them as the second cohort admitted into the university's part-time programme since Tai Solarin University of Education was upgraded to a Federal University of Education. He also commended the management of CEPPS for conducting another successful admission exercise.
Describing matriculation as the formal entry of students into the university community, Professor Oladipo encouraged the new students to see the ceremony as the beginning of an academic journey that demands commitment, perseverance and integrity.
He reaffirmed the university's commitment to producing graduates who are academically competent and equipped with practical vocational skills for entrepreneurship and self-employment.

According to him, every TASFUED student graduates with:
- A Bachelor of Education degree.
- A certificate of proficiency in a chosen vocational skill.
He explained that the dual qualification is designed to improve graduates' employability and entrepreneurial capacity.
Professor Oladipo also noted that the university is supported by highly qualified academic and non-teaching staff, adequate learning facilities and a secure environment that promotes effective teaching and learning.
He, however, warned the students against engaging in activities capable of tarnishing the institution's reputation, stressing that TASFUED maintains a zero-tolerance policy on:
- Cultism.
- Examination malpractice.
- Cybercrime.
- Hooliganism.
- Indecent dressing.
- Gangsterism.
- Disobedience to constituted authority.
- Other forms of misconduct.

He cautioned that students found guilty of such offences risk summary dismissal.
The Vice-Chancellor reminded the matriculating students that, as mature learners, they are expected to uphold high standards of discipline and good conduct while remaining focused on their academic pursuits. He also encouraged them to participate in legitimate extracurricular activities that contribute to their personal and professional development.
Professor Oladipo congratulated the parents, guardians and sponsors of the students for supporting their educational aspirations and thanked them for their confidence in TASFUED. He expressed optimism that they would also witness the successful graduation of their children and wards.
He wished the newly admitted students a rewarding and successful academic journey as they begin their studies at the university.
