TETFund Officials Inspect Newly Constructed Greenhouse at FUNAAB
Senior officials of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), led by the Technical Advisor to the Executive Secretary, Mr. Buhari Mikailu, today, September 25, 2025, inspected the newly constructed Greenhouse at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
The project, which formed part of the TETFund 2023/2024 Research Laboratory and Farm Innovation Project, was aimed at strengthening agricultural research and innovation.
The delegation, which also included Dr. Joy Anenih of TETFund’s Research and Development Department, as well as the Project Contractor, Mr. Cohen Reuven, were received by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi.
The Vice-Chancellor, while welcoming the Team, commended TETFund for its continuous interventions that have greatly enhanced FUNAAB’s capacity in staff training, research funding, conference sponsorships, capital projects, and the National Research Fund (NRF).
Giving an overview of the project, the Director, Directorate of Physical Planning, Engr. Kehinde Bamisile, explained that the facilities under the intervention include a training and research classroom with offices and conveniences, as well as the Greenhouse designed to support agricultural innovation.
During a guided tour, Mr. Reuven highlighted the Greenhouse’s state-of-the-art equipment and its potential to advance agricultural research. He expressed satisfaction with the project’s quality ahead of its formal validation.
Engr. Kehinde further disclosed that FUNAAB was the first institution among the three selected nationwide to complete and benefit from this specialised TETFund initiative.
Also in attendance were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Olawale Dairo; Registrar, Dr. Titus Adeniyi; Bursar, Mr. Olukayode Osinuga; and the Deputy Registrar, Executive Affairs of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Mr. Moses Ayanda.
