Thomas Adewumi University Scales Green Energy with Newly Upgraded 374.2 kWp Solar Farm

Thomas Adewumi University has successfully commissioned the upgrade of its solar electricity farm from 214kWp to 374.2 kWp, in partnership with Decrown West Africa, strengthening the University’s commitment to sustainable energy, infrastructure growth, and uninterrupted power supply across its campuses.

The upgraded system now delivers 329 kW of active distributed generation with a combined battery storage capacity of 778.44 kWh, ensuring reliable electricity for academic buildings, hostels, and critical facilities across the East and West Campuses.

Speaking at the commissioning, the Founder and Chancellor, Engr. Dr. Johnson Adewumi, commended Decrown West Africa, the University’s technical team, and project engineers for their dedication, reaffirming TAU’s commitment to renewable energy and innovative partnerships.

A key highlight was the active involvement of TAU Engineering students in the installation process—underscoring the University’s emphasis on hands-on, practical learning and industry-ready training.
