In a historic development, Thomas Adewumi University in Oko, Kwara State, Nigeria, and Bowie State University in Maryland, United States, have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This significant agreement marks the initiation of a landmark collaboration aimed at fostering a global community for students and faculty members of both institutions.

The management of Thomas Adewumi University emphasized that this partnership signifies the commencement of a profound collaboration between Bowie State University and Thomas Adewumi University, with a focus on various endeavors including research projects, joint management of grant applications, organization of academic and scientific events such as conferences, seminars, and lectures. Additionally, the agreement encompasses the exchange of teaching and research personnel, student exchange programs, and mutual pathways for students of Thomas Adewumi University to enroll in graduate programs at Bowie State University.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor of Thomas Adewumi University, Prof. Francisca Oladipo, expressed confidence in the collaboration's potential to overcome challenges and achieve a brighter future. She reiterated the commitment of both institutions to innovation and excellence.
Dr. Aminta H. Breaux, President of Bowie State University, highlighted the importance of international education in broadening students' perspectives and experiences. Breaux and Dr. Guy-Alain Amoussou from Bowie State University, and Prof. Francisca Oladipo and Chief JBO Adewumi from Thomas Adewumi University. Representatives from the Nigerian Embassy in America and members of the Kwara South community in America were also present.
