Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has reaffirmed his administration's dedication to ensuring universal access to quality education for every child in the state.Governor Oyebanji reiterated this commitment during the 28th convocation ceremony of Ekiti State University (EKSU) in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday.

During the convocation, the newly inaugurated Chancellor of the University, Dr. Tunji Olowolafe, unveiled a N1 billion agribusiness empowerment fund aimed at supporting products of the institution to enhance agriculture and food security.

Attending the convocation as the first alumnus of EKSU to become the governor of the state and Visitor to the University, Governor Oyebanji emphasized his government's dedication to ensuring that educational institutions in Ekiti State can compete globally.

The governor highlighted various initiatives undertaken by his administration to advance the education sector, including the renovation of over 200 secondary schools, distribution of laptops to students statewide, and the provision of bursaries and scholarships to tertiary students from Ekiti State.

Governor Oyebanji noted Ekiti's recent achievement as the state with the highest school enrollment rate in the country and pledged to strive for zero percent out-of-school children.

Furthermore, the governor urged university management to justify increased funding by demonstrating greater commitment to their responsibilities, avoiding frequent strike actions, and ensuring the smooth operation of the academic calendar to minimize disruptions for students.
