The grant, covering education from SS1 to SS3, was launched in honor of the late Mr. Olabode Agusto, founder of Agusto & Co. and an alumnus of the school.
Three students of Methodist Boys High School, Lagos – Omamogho Ajufuntsi, Fahm Aremu, and Ogunsola Oladimeji – have emerged as the first beneficiaries of the newly established 'Olabode Mubasheer Agusto Educational Grant.' The initiative, launched in honor of the late founder of Agusto & Co., Mr. Olabode Mubasheer Agusto, aims to support deserving students in their educational pursuits.
The grant, which covers the cost of education from Senior Secondary School 1 (SS1) to Senior Secondary School 3 (SS3), was introduced to commemorate the life and legacy of Mr. Agusto, an alumnus of the school and a distinguished finance expert who founded Agusto & Co. The financial support will be provided to three students annually for the next five years.
Speaking during the award ceremony, Managing Director of Agusto & Co, Mrs. Yinka Adelekan, highlighted the significance of the grant. "Today marks a day before the anniversary of the passing of Mr. Olabode Agusto, and launching this educational grant is a way to honor his commitment to education. Bode Agusto believed that education was the foundation for societal transformation, and we recognize the role his alma mater played in shaping the man he became," she said.
Mrs. Adelekan further explained that the beneficiaries were selected based on financial need, as some students face challenges that threaten their ability to continue their studies. "We are stepping in to ensure that these students complete their education despite any financial constraints or family setbacks," she added.
Dapo Fajemirokun, Human Resources Business Partner at Agusto & Co., elaborated on the grant's purpose, stating that it serves as a form of financial aid for eligible students. "This initiative is our way of giving back to the community and ensuring that deserving students at Methodist Boys High School have the opportunity to achieve their academic goals," he said.
The Olabode Mubasheer Agusto Educational Grant aims to make a lasting impact by empowering students and providing them with the tools needed for a brighter future.
