During a meeting with the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, Tinubu assured the student leaders that he would address the challenges faced by students in various higher institutions.
NANS President, Lucky Emonefe, conveyed Tinubu's commitment to addressing the hike in school fees, stating that the President assured them that the era of fee hikes would soon be over.
Regarding the delayed student loan scheme, Tinubu announced its imminent commencement within the next two weeks. He explained that the delay was due to an expansion of the scheme to include vocational training.

Tinubu's Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, also assured NANS of the government's readiness to prevent any potential strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
The purpose of NANS' visit was to express gratitude to Tinubu for the student loan scheme and to highlight the challenges faced by Nigerian students, including high school fees and living costs. Tinubu promised to address these issues and ensure that the student loan scheme benefits those without access to education.
