The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, June 4, has sent shockwaves through both the Indian and Russian communities.

Russian investigators have reported that as of Friday, two bodies have been recovered from the river, revealing the gravity of the tragedy and the challenging recovery efforts underway.

According to statements from the regional investigative committee, the students were swimming in an area of the river where bathing is prohibited.
