Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Six LAUTECH Nursing Students

In a heartbreaking incident, six final-year female students of the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) Bachelor of Nursing Science programme at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State, died in a road accident on Sunday, February 22, 2026.
All the students were in 500 level and were reportedly travelling to the university’s main campus in Ogbomoso to sit for their semester examinations when the crash occurred.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the mortuary, and authorities are yet to release an official statement or confirmation regarding the circumstances of the accident.
