Trinity University to Hold Maiden Convocation, 20 Graduates Attain First-Class Honors

In addition to celebrating academic achievements, the convocation will witness the investiture of Prince Samuel Adedoyin as the university’s Chancellor. Furthermore, honorary doctorate degrees will be conferred on Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, the wife of an ex-Oyo State governor, and Dr. John Obaro, a notable technology entrepreneur.

Trinity University to Hold Maiden Convocation, 20 Graduates Attain First-Class Honors

Trinity University, located in Sabo, Yaba, Lagos, is gearing up for its inaugural convocation ceremony scheduled for Friday, February 23. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Clement Kolawole, announced that the convocation would witness the graduation of a total of 72 students from the 2021/22 and 2022/23 academic sessions. Notably, 20 of these graduating students have achieved first-class honors.

Prof. Kolawole revealed that the convocation theme is "Convoking a Galaxy of Trinity Stars," symbolizing the celebration of academic excellence and the commencement of Trinity University's convocation tradition.

The convocation lecture, titled "Disruptive Technology: The Ambiguous Friend?," will be delivered by Africa’s first female professor of Computer Science, Adenike Osofisan. The lecture, scheduled for Thursday, will be chaired by Deacon Adebowale Tade, Chairman of the varsity’s Board of Trustees.
