UAT Holds Another Round of NYSC Orientation
Earlier today, the University of Africa Toru-orua played host to officials of the National Youth Service Corps who were on ground to hold an Orientation Programme for prospective youth corps members from the University of Africa, who are being mobilized for batch A stream A of the NYSC programme for 2024.

The team which was led by Mr. Rotimi Abiodun the NYSC Bayelsa State Mobilization Officer, itemized the major checks all prospective corps members must carry. His discuss with the students bordered on ensuring that the name on their call-up letters is the same as the name on their statement of result; the correctness of their date of birth in addition to the conditions for redeployment. Other issues such as safety, traveling light, and the importance of filling the green card correctly were also discussed extensively.
The NYSC team was received by the Registrar of the University Dr. Akpoebi Adesi who was represented by a Senior Administrator Mr. Sunday Pere in company of the Dean Student Affairs Dr. Dunu Benson, the Ag. PRO Mrs. Faith Aforka and other members of Staff. The Registrar appreciated the NYSC for their effort towards ensuring corps members have a hitch free service year while admonishing the students to be good ambassadors of UAT out there.

The Dean of student Affairs admonished the students to ensure that the UAT flag is flown at full mast as they are ambassadors of the University. He urged them to be law abiding at all times adding that since the University began sending students for the compulsory NYSC programme, there has been no negative report from the University and as such they should continue in that line.
It would be recalled that the University of Africa, had begun sending her students on the Compulsory NYSC Programme 2023 and several of her students have since successful concluded their service year.
