NYSC Osun State Extends Service Year for 40 Corps Members, 23 Reportedly Abscond
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Osun State has taken action against corps members who violated regulations during their service year. Specifically, 40 corps members from the NYSC Batch B Stream II have had their service year extended due to various infractions. NYSC State Coordinator, Agbor Ndoma Obim, made this announcement during the passing-out parade of the Batch B Stream II corps members held on Thursday.
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Osun State has taken action against corps members who violated regulations during their service year. Specifically, 40 corps members from the NYSC Batch B Stream II have had their service year extended due to various infractions.
Additionally, the NYSC revealed that 23 other corps members chose to abscond from the program out of the 3,014 who successfully completed their service and disengaged from the scheme.

NYSC State Coordinator, Agbor Ndoma Obim, made this announcement during the passing-out parade of the Batch B Stream II corps members held on Thursday. In his address, Obim commended the overall comportment and discipline displayed by the corps members throughout their service year.
He urged them to embrace their roles as ambassadors and to leverage the skills they acquired through the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training. Obim emphasized the importance of self-reliance and encouraged them to apply the knowledge gained during their service year to achieve their personal goals.

Obim said, “Leverage on the skills and various training you acquired during your service year and be self-reliant.”In addition to addressing professional development, Obim emphasized security awareness. He advised corps members to avoid night travels, as the NYSC strongly discourages such practices.
Furthermore, he urged those still in service to take their responsibilities seriously and prioritize their safety by familiarizing themselves with the security pamphlet provided by the scheme.
