In a remarkable achievement, two teams of Computing students from the University of Ibadan (UI) in southwest Nigeria have secured the grand prizes in both the Computing and Cloud tracks at the prestigious Huawei ICT Competition global final. The event took place in Shenzhen, China, on May 28, 2024.

A statement released by the University of Ibadan’s Public Relations Unit confirmed the victory. In the Computing Track category, the winning team consisted of Rufus Olusoji Adisa, Tolani Adekunle Adisa, Chibueze Emmanuel Ibekwe, and Lawrence Chukwuemeka. Their innovative solutions and technical prowess earned them top honors in a highly competitive field.
In the Cloud Track category, another team from UI emerged victorious. This team was comprised of Lukman Oyeniyi Abdulyekeen, Sodiq Babawale, and Temiloluwa Oloye, who demonstrated exceptional skills in cloud computing, securing the grand prize.
