The University of Ibadan (UI) has welcomed 3,749 new students for the 2023/2024 academic session. The matriculation ceremony, held yesterday, was conducted virtually due to current circumstances.

Candidates joined the ceremony online at 10 a.m., where the Vice-Chancellor, Professor K. O. Adebowale, mni, FAS, inaugurated the event and delivered a keynote address.

Dr. Victor T. Alabi from the Centre for Language Studies at Brown University, U.S.A., delivered an inspiring matriculation lecture titled “Harnessing the Giant in You for Giant Strides.”

During the ceremony, the Registrar, Mr. G. O. Saliu, administered the Matriculation Declaration/Oath to the new students, officially inducting them into the University of Ibadan community.
