University of Maiduguri Announces Vacancy for University Librarian

The University of Maiduguri has announced a vacancy for the position of University Librarian, effective March 20, 2025. The Governing Council of the University invites interested candidates with requisite qualifications and experience to apply for the post.

The ideal candidate must possess a good first degree in any subject, plus a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from a recognized institution. At least 15 years of work experience, 10 of which must be in a university library, is required. Strong evidence of contribution to library and information science through research and publication in reputable journals is also essential.

The University Librarian shall be a Principal Officer of the University, responsible for the administration of the University Library and coordination of all library services. The successful candidate shall be paid the salary of University Librarians of Federal Universities, with a retiring age of 65 years.
