Increase local milk production to meet rising demand in the country.Provide regular training programs for stakeholders in the dairy industry, advanced certification programs for dairy scientists, and hands-on experience for dairy science students.
Improve fodder production within the school environment and develop farms for practical training and overall dairy industry growth.
The partnership is expected to address the shortage of skilled dairy scientists and technicians in Nigeria, promote manpower development and capacity building, and drive the expansion of the dairy sector through effective collaboration between academia and industry stakeholders.
The establishment of a Department of Dairy Science at the University of Abuja provides a long-term solution to the manpower gap and bridges the divide between academia and the industry."
