UNICAL Announces Sales of Admission Form into Pre-Degree Programme

The University of Calabar has announced the sale of admission forms for qualified candidates into the Pre-Degree Programme for the 2024/25 academic session. 

The Pre-degree programme is a one-year preparatory programme that guarantees admissions into ALL NUC approved programmes in the University of Calabar, including Medicine, Law, Pharmacy, Nursing, Public Health, Medical Laboratory Sciences, and all of the courses in the Arts, Social Sciences, Management Sciences and Education faculties.

The University of Calabar Pre-Degree Programme is the easiest and surest way to getting direct admissions into any undergraduate programme in the University of Calabar.

Speaking about the programme, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Florence Obi revealed during the last orientation exercise for Pre-degree students of the 2023/24 academic session, that Pre-degree students are always given priority during every admission exercise of the University.

She Maintained that, under her watch, the institution will continue to admit all Pre-degree students into the University provided they meet the necessary requirements to study their dream course.

Accordingly, the Director of Pre-degree Programmes, Dr. Mrs. Virginia Ironbar, also at that event, announced that the Directorate has set out modalities to make the Pre-degree programme an interesting one for candidates to sail through. 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS INTO THE PRE-DEGREE PROGRAMME - All applicants must possess a minimum of five (5) O'LEVEL credits at not more than two sittings inclusive of English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology for Science students, while those applying for Arts and other disciplines must have five (5) credits including English Language and four other subjects relevant to their desired course of study in the University.

Applicants awaiting O'Level results (WAEC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB) can also apply and commence the programme. When their result is out, they are required to submit a copy of the result to the Pre-degree office as this will be used during their admission process.
