UNICAL Registrar Mr Gabriel Egbe has explained the inability to hold the second edition of the Registry Day which was scheduled to hold in 2022.

The Registrar of the University of Calabar (UNICAL), Mr Gabriel Egbe has explained the inability to hold the second edition of the Registry Day which was scheduled to hold in 2022.

The Registrar in a letter addressed to the University Community and dated 9th January 2023 explained that the inability to hold the 2nd edition of the Registrar Day event was a result of the prolonged strike action embarked upon by the four (4) University based unions that lasted for about eight (8) months.

While apologizing, Mr Egbe assured the university community that, necessary machinery has been put in place to hold the event, adding that, as soon as the arrangements for the resource person are concluded, a new date will be announced to all the relevant sections of the institution.

This is even as the Registrar expressed deep regret for all inconveniences that the shift in date for the event must have caused the Institution's esteemed staff.
