The management of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has reaffirmed its commitment to the wellbeing of its students, ensuring their academic and social support needs are met. This comes after a viral social media report highlighted the subpar living conditions of a 300-level student.

According to Mrs. Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, Head of the Communication Unit, the university has concluded investigations and interacted with the student and video producer. The student has been relocated to a guardian's home and offered on-campus accommodation for the remainder of their academic tenure.
The university appreciates the outpour of concern and support from the community and stakeholders. The student has expressed gratitude for donations received, and the university advises individuals and organizations to verify appeals through the Students' Affairs Division before making donations.
