UNILAG Triumphs Again, Wins 2024/2025 CFA Equity Research Challenge
UNILAG has emerged as the National Champion of the 2024/2025 CFA Equity Research Challenge, defeating 26 universities across Nigeria.

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has once again demonstrated its dominance in finance and investment research by emerging as the National Champion of the prestigious 2024/2025 CFA Equity Research Challenge. The competition, which featured 26 universities from across Nigeria, saw Team UNILAG claim the top position, reaffirming the institution’s reputation as a powerhouse for finance professionals.
The challenge, held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Naval Dockyard Conference Center, Victoria Island, Lagos, was fiercely contested. Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) and the University of Ibadan (UI) secured the second and third positions, respectively.
This victory marks the successful conclusion of the first phase of the competition, which spanned six months of rigorous research, report writing, and presentations. The team from UNILAG impressed the judges with their analytical prowess and strategic insights, ultimately clinching the national title.
With this feat, Team UNILAG has earned the honor of representing Nigeria in the next phase of the competition, where they will compete for the continental championship.
The Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, extended heartfelt congratulations to the team on behalf of the university’s staff and students. She commended their hard work and dedication and expressed confidence in their ability to excel at the continental stage.
