UNILAG VC Inaugurates New Hall of Residence Students Leaders for 2023/2024 Academic Session

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola, has officially inaugurated the new student leaders who will oversee affairs in the Halls of Residence during the 2023/2024 academic session.

 The inauguration and swearing-in ceremony took place on February 15, 2024, witnessed by members of the University Management, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellors, the Acting Registrar, and other key personnel. A total of 66 student representatives, consisting of 56 females and 10 males, were present at the event.

During the ceremony, Professor Ogunsola emphasized the importance of leadership, character, and academic excellence. She encouraged the student leaders to advocate for student rights, promote diversity, and contribute to a vibrant learning environment. The Vice-Chancellor also urged them to negotiate and engage in dialogue with the institution’s leadership when addressing student-related issues. In addition, the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Musa Adebayo Obalola, highlighted the significance of nurturing leadership talent and fostering active student participation across UNILAG’s ten Halls of Residence.
