UNILAG VC Reveals Details for Upcoming 11th FASU Games at Press Conference

In a Press Conference held on Thursday, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola, has unveiled details about the upcoming 11th Federation of African University Sports (FASU) Games, named "Lagos 2024."
Scheduled to take place from September 20 to 29, 2024, this historic event represents the first-ever joint hosting of the FASU Games by two prestigious institutions: UNILAG and Lagos State University (LASU).
Professor Ogunsola emphasized the significance of this unique collaboration between a federal and state institution, stating, "Lagos 2024 will showcase a groundbreaking model of cooperation and collaboration between Federal and State Institutions. It's a testament to our commitment to excellence in collegiate sports."
As the vibrant city of Lagos prepares to welcome athletes from potentially all 43 FASU member countries, the 11th FASU Games promises to be a spectacular celebration of African unity, youth potential, and sporting prowess. Over 1,500 athletes and officials from universities across the continent will compete in 17 sports disciplines, including athletics, football, basketball, and swimming.
