The University of Ilorin proudly celebrates its distinguished alumnus, Rilwan Akeyewale, who has been honored with the prestigious Royal African Young Leadership Forum (RAYLF) Award.
Established by His Royal Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Ọọni of Ifẹ, Adeyẹye Ẹnitan Ogunwusi, Ọjaja II, the RAYLF is a highly regarded annual award ceremony now in its fourth year. The forum recognizes and celebrates exceptional young Africans who have made significant contributions to their communities and the continent.

This year, Rilwan Akeyewale was among the 100 honorees selected from 40 African countries for their outstanding achievements in various fields including entrepreneurship, politics, advocacy, technology, healthcare, and social impact.
Rilwan, a seasoned business strategist and financial analyst, is renowned for founding TechPlan Africa. His consultancy plays a crucial role in assisting startups and SMEs to develop robust business plans and financial models. In addition, Rilwan established the Business Plan Academy, an online institution that has empowered over 2,000 young Africans with essential entrepreneurial skills. Over the past six years, the Academy has supported a total of 10,000 individuals, further demonstrating Rilwan’s dedication to fostering entrepreneurship across the continent.
