UNIMAID Chief Security Officer Receives National Security Ambassadorship Award

The Chief Security Officer of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), Major Mohammed Abiya (Rtd.), has been honoured with the Icon of Security Ambassadorship Award by the Coalition of Nigerian Youth on Security and Safety Affairs (CONYSSA) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to security management and community safety.

The Chief Security Officer of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), Major Mohammed Abiya (Rtd.), has been honoured with the Icon of Security Ambassadorship Award by the Coalition of Nigerian Youth on Security and Safety Affairs (CONYSSA) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to security management and community safety.

The award was presented on 17 December 2025 during the North-West Youth Multi-Stakeholders’ Security Summit on Social Vices, held at the Coronation Hall, Kano State Government House, Kano.

According to the organisers, the recognition reflects Major Abiya’s consistent leadership, professionalism, and proactive engagement in promoting a secure academic environment and strengthening collaboration between security stakeholders and the wider community.
