The farewell event, held on 26th January 2026 at the Senate Building, Directorate of Media and Information, recognized the contributions of four interns: Rosemary Robson, Amarachi Eze, Zainab Odunayo Haruna, and Magbagbeola Basit. The session served as a reflective gathering on their experiences, learning outcomes, and professional growth during the training period.
Ag. Director of the Directorate, Mr. Abubakar S. Biye, commended the interns for their dedication, discipline, and eagerness to learn. He highlighted their active participation in media production activities, including report writing, content development, photography, and technical operations, noting their ability to work effectively as a team.
Mr. Biye also emphasized the value of practical exposure in preparing Mass Communication students for professional media practice, noting that the interns often went beyond the office environment to cover key university events. He assured them of continued mentorship and support, encouraging ongoing engagement and contributions even after completing the IT programme.
The students’ supervisor, Mr. Adamu Isa Bukar, also praised their professionalism, commitment, and positive attitude, advising them to apply the practical skills gained in their future academic and professional pursuits. Other staff members joined in congratulating the interns and wishing them success in their careers.

On behalf of the interns, Magbagbeola Basit expressed profound gratitude for the mentorship, guidance, and warm reception provided by the Directorate, describing the experience as impactful and memorable.
In recognition of their outstanding performance and commitment, the IT students were appointed as the first-ever Ambassadors of the Directorate of Media and Information. In this role, they are expected to identify newsworthy activities across faculties and departments, submit reports for publication, and receive due credit for their contributions.
