UNIPORT promotes 43 academics to rank of Professor
The University of Port Harcourt has announced the promotion 43 senior academicians to the rank of Professor.

The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has announced the promotion 43 senior academicians to the rank of Professor. They were considered suited to benefit from the new round of promotion in the institution.
The new development was made public by the through a press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer,PRO, of the institution, Dr. Samuel Kpenu, said 22 other senior academics were promoted to the rank of associate Professors (Readers). It stated that the promotion was sequel to the approval by the Minister of Education on Friday, December 8, 2023.
There has been an earlier meeting of the Central A&PC Academic of the University of Port Harcourt on Thursday, November 23, 2023, where the newly promoted academics were recommended.
A breakdown of the promotion showed that the Faculty of Science had gotten ten new Professors, Faculty of Education got ten new Professors, Faculty of CHS got eight new professors, Faculty of Humanities got seven new professors, while the Faculty of Agriculture got three new Professors.
