University Of Africa Toru-Orua Hosts Grow Africa Youth Initiative On Anti-Drug Campaign
The University of Africa Toru-Orua (UAT) on Thursday received delegates from the Grow Africa Youth Initiative, who were on a one-day visit to interact with students of the institution on strategies to curb drug abuse among young people. Reporter Ebido was present at the event.
The University of Africa Toru-Orua (UAT) on Thursday received delegates from the Grow Africa Youth Initiative, who were on a one-day visit to interact with students of the institution on strategies to curb drug abuse among young people. Reporter Ebido was present at the event.

The delegation was led by the President of the Initiative, Comrade Ozim Temple, alongside the Vice President, Hon. Toure Nasaradanga, and the Deputy Secretary General, Comrade ThankGod Wosu. Comrade Temple explained that the organisation is committed to tackling drug abuse across Africa, adding that UAT was chosen for its recent positive strides under the leadership of Vice Chancellor, Professor Solomon Ebobrah, which have drawn national attention to the institution.

Receiving the team on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, the Registrar, Dr. Akpoebi Adesi, commended the Grow Africa Youth Initiative for selecting UAT as a platform for its sensitisation efforts. He expressed the institution’s readiness to collaborate with the group in advancing the campaign against drug abuse.

The highlight of the visit was the presentation of the Kwame Nkrumah Prize for Excellence to the Vice Chancellor, as well as special awards to outstanding staff and students of the university.
