University of Ibadan Receives Motorized Farm Equipment from Alumni

The Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Ibadan has received a significant donation of motorized farm equipment from its alumni sets of 1988 and 2001. 

The donation ceremony was attended by key university officials, including Professor A. S. Jegede, Director of the Research Management Office, who represented Vice-Chancellor Professor Kayode O. Adebowale. Professor Jegede commended the alumni for their philanthropic spirit, emphasizing the importance of their contributions to the university's growth and development.

The Class of 1988 donated two motorized farm equipment sets, while the Class of 2001 donated one set. Mr. John Emakhu, representing the Class of 1988, expressed their willingness to support the university management with more projects, highlighting the need for mechanization in the faculty to enhance training, learning, and productivity.

Professor O. A. Adebiyi, representing the Class of 2001, reassured the faculty of more benefactions from their set, emphasizing their commitment to advancing teaching, learning, and research. The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Professor A. B. Omojola, appreciated the university management for providing an enabling environment for students to thrive and commended the alumni sets for their generosity .

This donation is expected to significantly impact the university's agricultural programs, providing students with hands-on experience with modern farm equipment. The motorized farm equipment will also enhance the faculty's research capabilities, allowing for more efficient and effective farming practices .
