The All Nigerian University Debate Championship (ANUDC), an annual intellectual showdown for Nigeria's tertiary institutions, took place recently at Veritas University, Abuja. Known as the "Olympics" of debates and public speaking, this year's event saw students from federal, state, and private universities engage in riveting discussions on pressing societal issues.

The central debate focused on the challenges of regulating social media to address Online Gender-Based Violence (OGBV). Participants examined societal attitudes and the impact of digital platforms on behavior, fostering a stimulating dialogue on this critical issue.

The University of Ilorin emerged as a standout competitor, with four of its students advancing to the semi-finals. Their exceptional performance earned them ₦200,000 and educational materials, including comprehensive online safety toolkits. These resources are aimed at equipping students to raise awareness about digital violence and promote online safety.
