University of Jos Students' Union Government Clarifies GST Payment for Upcoming Examination

The Students' Union Government (SUG) of the University of Jos has issued a press release to address concerns regarding the payment of N4,000 at the GST department ahead of the forthcoming examinations.
According to the SUG, the payment is not mandatory for students sitting for GST exams. While the payment is encouraged to access materials provided by lecturers, non-payment will not prevent students from writing their GST examination.
The University Management has reaffirmed that no extra charges should be imposed on students apart from the fees officially approved by the institution. Any demand for additional fees beyond what has been sanctioned by the management should be reported immediately.
The SUG has urged all students to remain informed, stand by their rights, and report any form of exploitation. The SUG remains committed to protecting the interests of all students.
