The Students Union Government (SUG) of the University of Jos has announced the suspension of school fees payment for all students in protest of the recent increase in tuition fees for new students.

The SUG stated that the new tuition fees, which have risen exponentially from ₦51,500 to ₦162,000, are unjustifiable and place an undue burden on students and their families. The union has called for a reversal of the fee increase and has vowed to take further action if the university management fails to address the issue promptly.
