University of Lagos (UNILAG) is calling on interested and eligible Ph.D. students to apply for the prestigious 2025 Eni Awards – Young Talents for Africa Prize. This global recognition offers a unique opportunity for doctoral students to showcase groundbreaking research in energy and the environment.
The award, open to students of African citizenship, aims to promote innovative projects that align with the “One-Planet – One Health” initiative and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The competition is designed to reward research with the potential to impact Africa positively.
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify, applicants must:
- Hold a B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree (or their equivalent).
- Be currently enrolled in a Ph.D. programme at an African university or research institute.
- Have at least one year remaining in their programme before their thesis defense by July 2025, when winners will be announced.
- Focus their research on topics related to energy, environment, or sustainable development.
Award Details:
Each winner will receive:
- A €25,000 prize (twenty-five thousand Euros).
- A customized plaque.
- Full sponsorship to attend the prize-giving ceremony in Italy, with accommodation provided for the winner and one accompanying guest.
