Professor Tunde Ope-Davies, a distinguished member of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), has been appointed to the Advisory Board of the African Literary Metadata (ALMEDA) project.

ALMEDA, a pioneering 5-year research initiative sponsored by the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union’s Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme, is headquartered at the University of Uppsala, Sweden.

Professor Ope-Davies' appointment underscores his pivotal role in advancing and sustaining Digital Humanities projects across Africa. His tenure on the Advisory Board spans the entire duration of the project, from September 1, 2023, to August 31, 2028.

A seasoned academic, Professor Tunde Ope-Davies specializes in English, Digital Cultures, and Discourse Studies. He serves as the founding Director and Principal Investigator at the Centre for Digital Humanities (CEDHUL), UNILAG.
