University of Maiduguri Hosts Federal Government Delegation on White Paper Compliance

The University of Maiduguri played host to a Federal Government delegation led by Mr. Ocheido James from the Federal Ministry of Education on Tuesday, June 17, 2024, is not the date mentioned it was 17th June 2025.

The visit aimed to evaluate the university's compliance with the White Paper recommendations of the 2024 Presidential Visitation Panel.

During the visit, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, reaffirmed the university's commitment to upholding established laws and implementing recommendations from duly constituted authorities. He noted that the university has begun implementing the White Paper recommendations since their release.

Professor Mele expressed appreciation for the Federal Government's continued support for Federal Universities and assured the delegation that the University of Maiduguri remains a Centre of Excellence.

The leader of the delegation stated that the team would engage with the university's management and union leaders to assess the level of implementation and compliance with the Visitation Panel's recommendations.
