The University of Maiduguri's Office of the Registrar has outlined specific offenses and corresponding penalties for examination-related misconduct during the 2023/2024 academic session.
Possessing examination booklets or loose sheets outside the examination hall, possessing relevant materials in the examination hall, or using unauthorized devices such as mobile phones or programmable calculators
Attempting to assist or receiving assistance from another candidate during examinations, swapping examination booklets, or impersonation
Destroying evidence after apprehension or resisting apprehension
Two consecutive semesters for minor offenses (possessing examination booklets or loose sheets outside the examination hall)
Four consecutive semesters for moderate offenses (possessing relevant materials, attempting to assist or receiving assistance, or possessing unauthorized devices)
Severe offenses (possessing relevant materials and attempting to destroy evidence, impersonation, swapping examination booklets, or established cases of using unauthorized devices)
