University of Mkar Vice-Chancellor Prof. Zacharys Anger Gundu inaugurates the Implementation Committee for the proposed College of Health Sciences to address health manpower gaps.

On Friday, November 15, 2024, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mkar, Prof. Zacharys Anger Gundu, inaugurated the Implementation Committee for establishing a College of Health Sciences. The ceremony took place in the Brigadier General Atom Kpera (Rtd) Council Chamber.
The committee, chaired by Prof. Linus Chia Saalu, includes notable members such as Prof. Jonathan Karshima, Prof. Edwin Esiegbe, Abubakar Abdullahi, Job Orban Ahire, Dr. Pauline Atesar, Engineer T. Utev, and Engr. Johnson A. Odiba.
Prof. Gundu emphasized the University's commitment to closing health manpower gaps by establishing Basic Medical Sciences and Allied Medical Sciences units. These will serve as the foundation for the University's MBBS program.
The committee, under Prof. Saalu’s leadership, pledged to execute its responsibilities diligently, ensuring the realization of this critical initiative for the University’s development.
