The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, convened its 20th Valedictory Senate Session to recognise and celebrate retired professors for their outstanding contributions to the institution.

Established in 2011, the Valedictory Senate Session is a special gathering of the University Senate dedicated to acknowledging the exemplary academic careers and service of retiring professors. During the event, Provosts and Deans read citations highlighting the professional achievements and impact of each honouree, while the Vice-Chancellor delivered heartfelt tributes, commending their dedication to scholarship, teaching, and institutional development.
