An incident involving a lecturer at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has gone viral, igniting widespread condemnation on social media. The footage shows the male lecturer interrupting an ongoing class to address a male student's hairstyle, which he deemed “unacceptable and bushy.”

In the video, the lecturer boldly pulls out a pair of scissors and proceeds to trim the student’s hair, aiming to enforce his personal standards of what constitutes an acceptable hairstyle in the university environment.

Reactions from social media users have been swift and often harsh, criticizing the lecturer for taking matters into his own hands rather than relying on the institution's official disciplinary systems. One user commented, “This is actually wrong. Sir, we’re here to study, not learn modes of fashion or ethics. School authorities should ban all these acts.”
