KASU Hosts Inaugural National Conference with Workshop for Education and Social Development Directors

The Local Government Service Board of Kaduna State, in partnership with the Department of Public Administration at Kaduna State University (KASU), has organized a two-day workshop for Directors of Education and Social Development. The event, which began on Thursday, 24th July 2024, is part of the 1st National Conference hosted by KASU.
The workshop, themed "Contemporary Issues: Insecurity, Poverty, Unemployment, Sustainability, National Integration & Fuel Subsidy Challenges," aims to address critical socio-economic challenges affecting local governance and development in Nigeria. The opening ceremony was graced by Professor Aminu Ladan Sharehu OON, (Matawallen Zazzau), Chairman of the Local Government Service Board and Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee.

In his keynote address, Professor Sharehu emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between educational institutions and government bodies in tackling pressing issues such as insecurity, poverty, and unemployment. He noted that the workshop provides a platform for sharing knowledge, strategies, and innovative solutions to enhance the effectiveness of local governance.
The workshop's participants include key figures such as the Chairman of the Local Government Service Board, the Permanent Secretary, three Permanent Members, Special Advisers, the Director of Training, the Director of Finance, Deputy Directors, staff from the Training Department, and representatives from the Ministry of Local Government and the 23 Local Government Areas' Directors of Education and Social Development.
Over the course of the two-day event, participants will engage in various sessions and discussions aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of the complex issues at hand and developing actionable strategies to address them. The collaborative nature of the workshop underscores the commitment of both the Local Government Service Board and KASU to driving positive change and sustainable development within Kaduna State.

"This workshop is a testament to our dedication to improving the quality of governance and service delivery at the local level. By addressing these contemporary issues head-on, we can create a more secure, prosperous, and integrated society," Professor Sharehu stated.
The workshop is expected to conclude on Friday, 25th July 2024, with a closing ceremony that will highlight the key takeaways and actionable plans derived from the two days of intensive deliberations and collaborative efforts.
